Independent Third-Party ASCO Repair

ASCO Solenoid & Proportional Valve Repair

Independent third-party repair of ASCO solenoid, proportional, and cartridge valves, plus the coils and control electronics that go with them. NC Servo is not affiliated with ASCO or Emerson Electric. Component-level work, since 1975.

Down to the part Coils, seals, springs, and armatures replaced individually instead of swapping the whole valve.
13 dedicated test stands Hydraulic and electrical checks on the bench before a unit ships back.
One-year warranty Standard on parts and workmanship for ASCO repairs and rebuilds.

What We Do

ASCO valve work, done in-house

NC Servo repairs ASCO valves at the component level. The shop opens each unit, finds what actually failed, and rebuilds it using replacement seals, springs, armatures, and coils.

Solenoid & proportional

ASCO 8210, RedHat, Posiflow, Numatics, and similar solenoid and proportional valves repaired in-house. Coils, armatures, seals, and springs replaced from stock when available, off donor units when not.

Real evaluation, not guesswork

Each unit gets opened up before pricing. Lead time depends on the model, the failure, and which donor parts are around. We can only give an estimate once a tech has eyes on it.

Rebuilds & cross-references

If a fresh repair is not the right call, ask about a rebuilt unit from the shelf or a functional equivalent from another manufacturer. Stock turns over, so call to check what is around.

Models We See

ASCO models that come in for repair

We are a small repair shop, not an ASCO distributor. The models below are simply ASCO valves that come through the door often enough to be familiar. If your unit is not listed, give us a call with the part number anyway. We work on what we can.

8210 general service The classic ASCO 8210 and related general-service solenoid valves used across plant utilities.
RedHat solenoids RedHat and Next Generation solenoid valves (including 8262, 8263, 8316, 8344) for direct-acting and pilot service.
Posiflow proportional Posiflow and other ASCO proportional solenoid valves for variable flow and pressure work.
ASCO Numatics Numatics-branded process valves and pilot-operated assemblies, plus replacement coils.

Common Issues

What usually shows up on an ASCO valve

A description of how the valve was acting before it quit helps the diagnosis, but plenty of units come in with nothing more than a part number. Either way, the techs check the unit on the bench and replace what needs replacing. The categories below cover the kinds of trouble that show up on ASCO valves.

Coil and electrical Blown coils, open windings, low resistance, no actuation, or intermittent switching.
Hydraulic and flow Internal leakage past the spool, sluggish response, contamination plugging, or low flow output.
Mechanical Stuck spool, scoring, worn seals, broken springs, stripped threads, or damaged armature travel.
Physical condition Heat damage, contamination evidence, corroded armature, damaged connectors, or prior repair attempts.

Workflow

How an ASCO valve gets repaired

Most jobs run through the same four-step path. Lead time varies, since some repairs need parts pulled off a donor valve, so we only commit to timing once the unit is in front of a tech.

Give us a call

Call the shop or send an email. Whatever info you have on the valve and the symptom is enough to start.

On the bench

Once the unit arrives, a tech opens it, inspects internals, and runs it on a test stand to confirm the failure mode.

Cost & approval

We call you back with what the repair will cost and the rough turnaround. Nothing happens without your sign-off.

Repair & ship

Failed seals, coils, and components are replaced, the valve is checked under pressure, and the unit ships back.

Verification

Bench checks before a repair ships

Newer digital and CANbus-capable ASCO valves run on the Hagen-Busch test stand. Older proportional and legacy units go on dedicated stands the shop has kept around for that kind of work. Either way, a valve gets checked under pressure before it ships back.

  • Hagen-Busch stand for current ASCO valves, including digitally controlled units.
  • Older legacy stands kept on hand for proportional and discontinued models.
  • Coil resistance, switching response, and leakage checked after seals are replaced.
  • Repair backed by a 1-year warranty on parts and workmanship.

Stock & Swaps

If we have one on the shelf, you can swap

Sometimes there is a previously rebuilt ASCO valve sitting on the shelf from an old job. If we have a match for your part number, your old (failed) unit comes in as a trade-in and you get a discount on the rebuilt one we already have. Stock is hit or miss, so call to check before assuming.

  • Trade in your old valve, get a discount on the rebuilt one already on the shelf.
  • If we do not have a match, we can suggest a comparable valve from another manufacturer.
  • If neither of those works, we can repair the unit you have.
  • Rebuilt valves we ship out carry the same 1-year warranty as a fresh repair.

Repair Scope

Where the line is on a valve repair

NC Servo works on the valve itself: the body, internals, and the coil that drives it. Anything on the system side stays with your team.

  • Internal valve work: spool service, seal replacement, and coil rebuild.
  • System pressure, fluid choice, and machine integration stay with your team.
  • Putting the valve back on the machine follows your normal startup process.
  • Warranty covers the repair itself, not how the valve performs in the application.

Need an ASCO valve looked at?

Give us a call with the part number, a photo of the nameplate, or just a short description of what is wrong. We will check the shelf, and if we have a rebuilt match you can swap your old one for a discount. If we do not, we can suggest a comparable valve or repair the one you have.

FAQ

Common questions about ASCO repair

A few things customers tend to ask before sending a unit in. Anything not covered, give us a call at 734-326-6666.

Is NC Servo affiliated with ASCO or Emerson Electric?

No. NC Servo Technology is an independent, third-party repair facility and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by ASCO or Emerson Electric. All ASCO trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

Which ASCO valves do you cover?

ASCO solenoid valves (2-way, 3-way, 4-way directional), proportional flow and pressure valves, cartridge-style solenoid and directional valves, and the coils and control electronics that come with them. Send a part number to confirm coverage on anything not listed.

Can NC Servo do hydraulic system design or commissioning?

No. NC Servo handles the valve repair only. System pressure setup, hydraulic schematic decisions, and getting the valve back on the machine stay with your team or your installer.

How long does an ASCO valve repair take?

It varies. NC Servo is a small independent shop, and lead time depends on the valve, what is wrong with it, and whether parts have to come off a donor unit. Give us a call once the unit ships in, and we can give a current estimate after a tech has looked at it.

What happens if the valve is beyond economic repair?

If the valve is not fixable, we will let you know and help source a replacement: a rebuilt match if we have one on the shelf, or a comparable valve from another manufacturer.

What is the warranty on an ASCO valve repair?

One year on parts and workmanship. The same warranty applies whether the unit was repaired, rebuilt, or supplied as an exchange. Standard exclusions apply for contamination, improper installation, and out-of-spec operation.
