    N900 Common questions

    Servo valve repair FAQ

What does the “NC” in NC Servo stand for?
NC stands for numerical control — the programmed machine-tool automation technology that servo valves and servo drives made possible. NC Servo Technology has repaired these components since 1975.
How long does servo valve repair take?
We offer standard, expedited, and 24-hour rush turnaround options. Send your model number and we respond with lead time and pricing, typically within one business day.
Do you repair discontinued or obsolete servo valves?
Yes. Many OEMs discontinue service on older models. We maintain inventory for discontinued valves and have been servicing obsolete models for decades — if the manufacturer no longer supports it, we likely still do.
Is my valve tested before it ships back?
Every repaired valve is bench-tested before shipment on one of our 13 in-house test stands, including a Hagenbusch Proportional Test Stand. Performance graphs and detailed failure reports are available for purchase.
Should I repair or replace a failing servo valve?
It depends on the valve model, availability, and failure mode. Independent repair is often substantially more cost-effective than OEM replacement, especially for discontinued models with extended lead times. See our repair-vs-replace decision guide.
Are you affiliated with Moog, Bosch Rexroth, or other manufacturers?
No. NC Servo Technology is an independent third-party repair facility with no affiliation to any OEM. Brand names on this site are used for identification only. All warranties are our own.
Can you service valves with onboard digital electronics?
Yes. We service valves with integrated electronics running CANbus, PROFIBUS, or EtherCAT protocols. Before repair we extract and store the valve's program; after repair the original parameters are reloaded and verified.
